Description

Auslan 103: Lifestyle is an advanced beginner course designed to extend your ability to communicate effectively in daily life. With a focus on practical usage, this course prepares you to navigate a range of settings - from asking for directions and giving instructions to discussing work, school, and personal routines in detail.

Each week introduces a new real-life theme, paired with vocabulary, grammar, and hands-on practice to build fluency. You’ll learn how to describe physical spaces, talk about schedules and meetings, and confidently use calendar-related terms and larger numbers.

You’ll also explore how to construct longer, more detailed Auslan conversations using features like facial expressions, directionality, and spatial referencing. Through simulations, partner work, and scenario-based learning, you’ll gain the tools to sign naturally and with clarity in a variety of situations.

This course is ideal for anyone looking to solidify their Auslan skills before progressing to accredited training. It provides a strong foundation for continuing into Certificate II in Auslan with institutions like TAFE or Melbourne Polytechnic (MPT).
